Frozen, the latest animated offering from Disney, has now become its highest-grossing film of all time. As a special thank you to its legions of fans across the globe, Disney recently released a special, multilingual version of "Let it go", the hugely popular song from the film.
The song features a total of 25 languages including Castilian and Latin-American Spanish, Catalan, Mandarin and Cantonese Chinese and Thai.
It is indeed a very nice touch from Disney. The song is lovely and incredibly well done, with the languages and the voices of the artists blending effortlessly into one another. It is, in fact, hard to believe they are not one and the same person, singing in different languages.
The multilingual "Let it go" is so popular that additional versions have since been created to cover the languages that did not make it into the song. It is up for an Oscar in the Best Original Song category. The Oscar ceremony will be held this coming Sunday, so we will soon find out whether it has been selected to receive this prestigious award. But regardless of whether it wins it or not, considering its extraordinary global success looks like "Let it go" is already a winner.
If you have not heard this version yet, go on, give it a listen. It's a delight.
